The Journey Down South

Last week on the 3rd of July we - Sheng, Shuk and myself went for a random road trip down the south of Malaysia; Malacca, Johor Bahru and Muar. It was so random that we didn't personally planned where to go and where to overnight at. Thought of Malacca, click on the GPS and off we go. But before that, we have a wholesome breakfast, dim sum at Kuchai Lama joined by Kok Leong. Then say good bye and off we go again...

Upon arrival at Malacca, we simply go by following the cars and ended up in AEON Bandaraya Melaka. There, we settled down at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a drink, rest while searches the Internet for places of interest in Malacca (Sheng and Shuk brought along their laptops). Found the place; Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat), set the GPS again, and then we're there! Busy place, lots of tourist, and not-so-up-to-expectation food. Nice sunny weather eaten up by the clouds and it started drizzling.

We soldiered on with the road trip despite the rain and found ourselves en route to Johor Bahru; just because we never been there. It's a long stretch of boring road, with nothing interesting to see and so on. Rainy weather turned my appetite off from the camera. We found JB Sentral, and went to the JB City Square (huge mall with lots of great shops), settled down at Starbucks this time for a drink, rest while searches the Internet again for places to stay and interest. Found our hotel next, and overnight there with some trips around the area looking for food. Watched a funny movie in the room, then it's tomorrow!

Check out, stayed at the hotel lobby to search the Internet for Muar's famous food (after recommendation from Sam all the way from Japan). After setting the GPS again, we're off to Glutton Street (Jalan Haji Abu) at Muar. On the road there, we chat a lot of funny and stupid crap like never before. Upon arrival, we found that it's raining again. But that doesn't stop us from ordering the food. Done that, we head home. What a trip!

Our first round of Dim sum at Kuchai Lama, more to come!

Phew, what a long post! It's a hectic and less rewarding trip. However, we earned some quality time together, as part of the 4S group (missing Sam). Ciao!
