Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013 - Part 2

Continued from Part 1, here are more pictures of vehicles and models (definitely) from the 10 days event. You might find the latter more than vehicles though... well models are an important feature since the inaugural conception of the KLIMS.

Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013 - Part 1

This year, the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS '13) is back with the tagline, Efficiency in Motion. It was supposed to be a biannual event, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the show was postponed to this year. The overall show focuses onto energy-efficient vehicles and concepts, comprised of hybrid, full electric and et cetera. As many big/common players in the industry did not show up, heck even Proton itself, many spaces were filled by aftermarket companies and classic cars showcase. I am not as enthusiast as I did in the past KLIMS 2010 (Part 1 | Part 2), thus expect less pictures.

Probably the gem of the show; the Lexus LFA.

Peugeot in 2018 Design Project

Prepared by Dracryst Chan Fwu Shin.

In this semester, I took the subject of Project 1, a preliminary subject to Final Project of my course. We were given a choice to choose between 3 projects; A go-cart powered by 4 units of Bosch drills, a eco-makeover of any building in the university campus (without deconstructing/reconstructing it), and the NST Nasim Sdn. Bhd. and Automobiles Peugeot Design Competition.

Majority of students chose the latter, the Peugeot Design Competition where we are required to design a Peugeot car for the year 2018 aiming at the South East Asian market. The competition requirements are simple, just design a car we deemed fitting for the theme. However, for our Project, as an engineer, we need to consider many engineering requirements to build a car. Please be ready for a lot of words.

Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 - Part 1

On the 6th of December 2010, I went to the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS '10) with few people. It's rather boring in terms of cars considering many of the big players aren't there to display their plethora of automobiles. Get your bandwidth ready to be bombed by pictures, though I didn't snap that much.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk6

It's raining heavily now, forcing me to cancel my appointment at the college library.

Anyway, here's a simple write up of the upcoming VW Golf GTI Mk6. As all of you know, the Golf GTI Mk5 did a lot of merit-able things which leaves some sort of memories deep in our heart. It's the revolution of hatchbacks, fighting to race with the bigger counterpart. Of course, there's the absurd Golf R32 Mk5 which packs huge engine in a small car (it's not really small either).

Golf GTI Mk1 and Mk6

Compared to the Mk1, the Mk6 still bear some resemblance, although limited to the red lining at the front grille. The Mk6 looks stunning in its GTI guise, well trimmed compared to the dull stock Mk6 form. I actually prefer the Mk5 Golf if you're giving me a choice of stock cars.

I'll cut the grandfather story now, and proceed to the performance. It uses the EA888 2.0L engine, capable of producing 210PS and a massive 280Nm torque. Emission rated Euro 5 compliant, 170g/km as the engine only use only 7.3 liters (7.4L for the DSG) of fuel per 100km, compared to 8.0 liters on the Mk5 GTI.

The Mk5 Golf GTI

0 to 100km/h takes just 6.9 seconds. A 240 km/h top speed with the manual transmission is achieved at top gear at 5,900rpm. With the 6-speed twin clutch DSG, the top speed is 238km/h at top gear with the rev needle pointing to 5,920rpm.

The interior

Dunno what are those? Nevermind. You won't be able to buy it anyway partly because it hasn't arrive to our shore and partly because you wouldn't use north of RM200K for a hatchback since you'll buy those long and wide reconditioned sedans from Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

Random 1 x Cars

Many thing to post, but will keep it for later entry as I haven't got my hand on the pictures yet.

Random post haha!

Remember this car?

Well, it had a brother now. Owned by the brother of the owner too!

Sorry for the low quality pictures, it's night time *sigh*

Talking bout car at this range, I do have 3 cars of which I favours much:

Ford Fiesta

Fiat Grande Punto

VW Golf Mk.6

They are not just beautiful, but fun to drive as well. Especially the new Golf and Fiesta, both have the best handling, value-for-money, low CO2 emission, low fuel consumption, high quality and et cetera.

How I wish to own any one of them.

Ladies and gentleman, let me show you yours truly very first car crash....... TADAA!!

I bang on the Merc when I was reversing and because of the car's sheer size, can't see her coming. There goes her Merc, trying to slip through.
